Any one who is thinking of renovating or building a new home will have to make many decisions about what services to integrate in to their building.

Do I need to integrate technology?
The simple answer is YES. Every one needs access to the most basic services like phones and the internet as well as digital TV and security, even the biggest technophobes!
It is very cheap to install the cabling needed for other services like: WiFi, satellite HDTV, data networks, CCTV, alarms, lighting control, home cinema, Hi-Fi, multi room audio and access control during the building stage.
It is relatively very expensive and messy to add these cables later so even if you are not planning to use some of these services, its worth putting some of the cables in any way. Just in case you need them later.
What does 'Future Proof' mean?
No one really knows what new technology is around the corner and over time these innovations mean different cabling and new ways of working.
Whenever we work on a Future Proof home we always use a sophisticated and ultra-flexible 'backbone' of essential cabling in the building. This means we can basically upgrade the kit on both ends of the cables to keep up with future requirements for new formats and better pictures and sound.
Your system can change and adapt over time if you want to keep up with the changes in technology with out having to run new cables!

Smart Home - Cinema Room
This stunning cinema installation was part of the massive renovation of a historic and listed building. The project was awarded a RIBA design award and was a Grand Designs Award finalist. This is the main home cinema for the house which has other TV viewing areas all connected to a DVD server with BluRay so films are stored centrally and can be viewed on any of the screens.
The screen is an incredible 60'' Pioneer Kuro Plasma which was mounted flush and has a custom made black gloss metal surround to give a perfect finish. The top of the line Bowers & Wilkins in-wall speaker system was designed in to the false wall and the center speaker is fitted to a bespoke made metal bracket for a floating look. The bespoke cabinet hides all the kit and every thing is controlled from one simple remote control. The screen is connected to an HD media player and a distributed SkyHD box so you can watch and record both FreeView and SkyHD whilst still being able to watch those recordings back in any room!
To provide the bass there is a beautiful B&W PV1 sub on a sandstone base and the rear four of a full 7.1 speaker system is built in to the ceiling. The high frequency drivers are all angled in to provide a wide 'sweet spot' so all the family can get the full benefit of those high quality movie sound tracks.
There is also access to the multi room audio system and all the family's music is stored centrally so you can listen to music anywhere in the house, including this awesome cinema system.
